John,
The 6/4 ma channel is AGET's trigger point to "try" to identify a change in
trend after a specific EW count (normally after wave 4's and wave 5's). It
is not all that unique or perfect. If a change in trend is occurring, then
"any" trigger point will work much like the H-L regression channel (slightly
different than normal regression in that in a down trend they are built of
the lows and on an up trend of the highs). The H-L regression differ from
regular regression in that they "tend" to keep you in the trend longer than
regular regression channels. The difference between the two (6/4 channels
and H-L regression channels) is simple, use regular regression when the move
has "one slope" and 6/4 when the move has multiple slopes (like an ABC or
maybe a move with a good minor 4) since moves with multiple slopes then to
"spread" the regression channels too wide, normally.
The 6/4 channels are 6 periods offfset by 4 periods off the high (blue) and
the same off the low (red). Depending on the direction, a close above/below
the one and take out of the high/low of that bar is a signal. The other
becomes the stop. Of course you can always wait for the signal then buy/sell
the pull back (proffered) to minimize the exposure on any stop loss.
good luck and good trading
