I am running
Tradestation Pro along side of DTN 8080.  Omega, now Trade something?,
doesn't have all the indices
yet but I will ask
them to add the ones we want.  I am probably going to change over to Pro if
DTN doesn't get with
the program.  I
am in the boondocks so all I have is an ISDN line that runs from 40 to 80
Kbps.  Pro puts no real load
on it so far.
I did pull my ISDN line out of the telephone pole one day moving some trees and
used my 56K modem
all day with no
problem.  Out where I am a 56K modem runs at 18K.  Made it hard to
send and receive email however.

  Breadth data
Not having the issue and volume data for the indexes in
realtime is like flying 2/3 blind.  Price, issues, volume.
Like on the attached chart the raw up volume and down volume tells a lot about
what is going on behind price movement and can be used to decide if you want
to be long or short, i.e. is the market environment suitable.  Even the #
of shares per minute tells something about turnover.  Like on last
Thursday when price had a narrow range day, the shares per minute was way
above the usual baseline level of 1.5 to 2 million shares per minute during
the NY lunch period(chart is in Pacific Time).  That Thursday told me
lots of stock was being distributed after the huge runup on Wednesday.
Since then net volume has been negative or flat.  Flat net volume
  produces choppy trendless markets.
In Equivolume charting per Richard Arms, that Thursday would
  have been a short height box(price) and a very wide box(volume), i.e. a
topping equivolume box and could have been looked at as a setup for a short on
  Friday.

Bob,Same thing happened to me - Getting
shut down on New Years.  It took them two days to get it all
right.  It seem they enable it the box - supposedly to what you are
paying for, and then you have to call back and tell them it is not all
working .  They usually get it right the second time.  The
gripe I have is they do not send out transaction volume for each tick in the
electronic futures markets.  Example SP mini.  They strongly
stated it was not coming from the CME.  I ended up speaking with a
friend who has BMI and they had it, then I spoke with the CME data vendor
support person and she sated they send it.  Finally after this and
three more calls to DTN, they got to their 'market data analyst' (?)
and  they used a Reuters screen and confirmed it was there.  They
are 'looking into what is wrong.  Don estimated fix date. They
have good data and lots of it, once they get things right.Just my

I hope they soon get the message of what subscribers need.
Cancelling subscriptions and returning hardware is the best way to do
it.  Over the last year prior to subscribing and times afterwards
I have had both assurances and denials about this issue from their
sales and tech people.  The holdups were decimalization, then the
new satellite, then building their own tickerplant.  Now what is
the reason for the holdup?  Its not on their agenda from my last
          call a week ago.

I'm going to email and write these idiots once more and then I'm

Suggestion:  whatever feed you are using, especially DTN
            satellite, then on
your next monthly payment and all future ones, take a moment to
            do a write
in feedback/request expressing displeasure about the lack of
            individual
breadth symbols so that the Omega Global Server can acquire the
            data.  State
that renewal of the subscription may be dependant on DTN's
            inclination
towards listening and responding to subscribers' requests.
            There is
absolutely no acceptable reason why any data feed does not have
            this data.
