Troy -
There is a different nomenclature for puts and calls. See the CBOE website for
details.

  Thanks Ira for the reply

im looking at the yahoo quote page and for the 82 1/2's the symbol they
are showing is SGWMX.X  and also sorry for the misinformation, but these
symbols were puts that i was referring to...does that make any
  difference?  So they are showing quotes for 80 82 1/2 & 85

  Thanks again
  Troy

The symbol break comes at 82 1/2.  see the attachment
there is only one symbol for the 85s. And January calls would have an AQ not
    a WQ.

I know this might sound like a real stupid questions, but I dont know the
answer so im asking.  The million dollar question is. in regard
to options why are there two symbols for one strike
price. exp....  for SEBL on the Jan leaps 2001  for
strike 85 One symbol is EZGWQ.X and theres another symbol thats
SGWWQ.X  for the same strike price.    Is this because
they are trading on diff exchanges or is it because it is a different
      contract size all together? ThanksTroywallst@xxxxxxxx
