I also use Hypersnap and I just found out that you can adjust the color
Resolution in it as well. Under the menu item Image you will find Color
Resolution. Click on it and where is says Bits per pixel you can change it
from the defaut 8 to either 16, 4, or even 1. By changing it to 4 the size
of the file went from 32000 down to about 22000 and it looks the same to me.
