   Bryant,

I am about to plug the plug on Signal. I started with their ancestor product
Quotrek in 1984.
I was one of the first to have one in Chicago. That was when the company was
"Dataspeed"
which was origanally a company that did the electronic data keeping for the
Indy 500 hence the name. Dataspeed was bought out by Lotus which is how the
Lotus Spreadsheet format became the standard look for Signal. This was then
called Data Broadcasting which Lotus then sold to FNN
the original first national market channel. CNBC came on the scene with big
bucks backing by
NBC so FNN went broke and was forced to spin off Data Broadcasting Corp. A few
years ago, DBC bought BMI which I think was the old Bonneviille commodity data
service. Now it looks like
the internet and some customer service issues will be the end of DBC.

Anyone interested in buying a Quotrek or Signal cable box?

Historically,

Norman
