You can check your mail from any remote location as long as your email
provider doesn't have most or all sites blocked that they see no reason to
have access to their pop server. Even if they do have your remote site
blocked, all you have to do is ask and most providers will allow that
remote site access for the time period you will be using it. If you need
help setting up your client to receive remotely, send me a pvt mail with
what mail client you are using.
