I wanted to add to the charting controversy (not enough lines, to many
lines, ect) by thowing in my latest exploration into Non Linear Analysis.
It is Phase Space Plots. With out going into all the excruciating detail
on how this is done, I just wanted to point out some of the dynamics for
the OEX that this 3D plot reveals. This plot shows the tendency for the
OEX to make strong trending moves (up and down) only to run into
resistance and trade in a congested area until it can break out again.
The downside is not so clear (as depicted in the plot). I think this
dynamic shows some of the diffculty traders have picking bottoms on the
OEX. For the really hardcore I can tell you that the embedding dimension
is 2 and the delay is 1040.
