They also work much better if you are plotting them on electronic
futures such as ES or NQ. For the +/- tick volume indicator to have much
value, you have to see all the multiple ticks at the same price. 00 50
50 50 50 50 00 00 would count as 5 upticks followed by 2 downticks, net
+3. SP and ND usually just give you a single "snapshot" tick when the
price changes so the indicator ends up measuring price movements rather
than serving as a proxy for volume.... 00 50 00.... one uptick and one
downtick, net 0.
