My worst drawdowns?
I went broke 3 times... hopefully I am done now!
Otherwise since then, my worst is 27%. Currently with the Nasdaq down at
the low the other day I was at -15% from my last high. My worst losing
streak was 21 losers in a row for a 13% drawdown. The 22nd trade
recouped it all and some. Until then the worst streak had been 15 losers
in a row in 5000 trades in 15 years of testing. The worst drawdown btw
had been 23%.
17 trades and flat, let me ask a few questions:
- Do you have a system?
- Did you test it thoroughly (several 100 hundred trades)?
- Are you sufficiently capitalized for it, like 5x times worst drawdown
in test history?
- Do you need the money, or can you afford to go through a several
months drawdown?
- Does it generate at least twice your monthly expenses on average?
- If all of the above is yes, just follow it, or fix the points missing
before trying to live off that.
The very best to you,
Gwenn
