I think the point is that even when the government, in all its "wisdom", has
tried to run covert operations, some news of it leaks out over time,
sometimes in only the most general of terms, but leaked all the same. Some
turn into fanciful conspiracy theories that seem plausible and are either
proven false or unverifiable, and some I am sure are ongoing operations that
do exist and may never be fully explained.
I think people find it hard to believe that the government has concocted a
scheme that over several administrations has been able to QUIETLY manipulate
the markets into this joyride of a stock market. Maybe Goldman Sachs is the
governments tool and Abbey Joseph Cohen is the puppet, although it most
often times seems to be the reverse.
I do believe that the government is an out of control beast. I just think
it is too much like a rogue elephant to be effective with its' covert
operations. That is not to say that their are not a few serpants slithering
in the underbrush, but with a giganitic beast thrashing about, uncovering
them is only a matter of time.
