I've been in the restaurant business and you can usually tell how things are
buy simply asking. That prevents you from making a lot of wrong assumptions
as well.
I wouldn't stand for this kind of privacy invasion no mater what reasons
they may have. Next thing you know they will have a hidden microphone at
your table or maybe they already do.
How would they like for us to have a hidden vidoe tape of what's going on in
their kitchens. Not!
However, I do believe in video taping the money handlers at the cashiers
station in a restaurant, it keeps them honest.
We can all put an end to this quickly, by simply asking if we are being
video taped while dining and promptly leave or cancel your reservations if
they do it.
Personally, I eat out less and less considering what is going on in many
restaurants.
