JP, it seems that Barron's impact on the market has become
about as (ir-)relevant as the Fed and interest rates.

If you look at the stock on the top of the list, Pilot Networks (PILT),
they've got about $26 mil. in cash and investments, and $23 mil. in
liabilities (per the latest quaterly report, Dec. 1999). This gives
them about $3 mil. in cash (they also have an $8 mil. line of credit).

PILT's operating loss last quarter was about $5.5 mil. so it isn't
difficult to see how they might cruise through the remaining cash
in a hurry. Over the past 6 months, insiders have unloaded 1/4 of
their total shares, with the VP of Finance, and other VP's as steady
sellers.

But even with these problems, hope springs etermal. Here's a recent
posting on the Yahoo! message board:

The MM's are going to open this stock as low as possible
monday. It should be the low of the day. I'm going to try
to get more if it's 3 or 4 points lower. [...]
I also think that the link between peoplesoft and exodus,
cisco, ATT and primus proves there is a deal comming for
    pilot from ATT or exodus!
