It's a simple MACD (difference between two moving averages) which uses
19 and 39 periods and no smoothing on (Advancing Issues minus Declining
Issues). Some prefer to use a so-called normalized version (AI/Total
Issues) - (DI/Total Issues) but I've never found the difference to be
worth the bother. Issues data varies by data source - I use the
WSJ/Barron's numbers.
