I saw a post from Steve Walker asking about Datek. My experience has
been that they have charge me for multiple fills when I should not have
been, I have requested funds to be issued from my account and got
debited to asking for a check but did not get the check and they faxed
all of my account information to a trader in New York. I found out when
he called me to let me know. He also told me that Datek had deposited
his check to open and account but now had no record of an application so
they were trying to "trace" his money. I have closed my account. Their
back office is a disaster. I sure don't want to depend on their record
keeping if there is ever a market meltdown. I could be leveraged to the
hilt short the indexes and not see a penny of it if they can't reconcile
their accounts.
If other people have had similar experiences I would like to know
because I suspect that a class action suit would be appropriate to
breach of fiduciary responsibility. Mark
