A few have asked about the Bollenger Put Volume Indicator. Here is what I
sent to one person
John Bollenger has written a few monographs on using put volume and one
thing he could prove conclusively is that when the CBOE total put volume,
i.e. sum of equity plus index, exceeds twice its ten day average you have a
buy signal on your hands. That signal does not occur very often. However,
I personally have found that within a bullish trend the ratio will exceed
about 1.4 and turn down and act
as a continuation buy signal. You might want to try it on the Equity only
put volume also. Attached is another chart that can be easily reproduced if
you have the put volume data. The bottom plot in the chart is total put
volume divided by its ten day average and is plotted using the TS built in
spread(X/Y). So if you have the OEX in data1 and the put volume in data2
then what you do is Insert Analysis Techniques and select the Spread(x/y)
indicator. Then you format it as
Input1 = v of data2
Input2 = Average(v of data2,10)
then click OK and it should plot the Bollenger put volume indicator. You
can manually insert the horizontal lines at 2.0 and 1.4.
