Hi.  The information that I have on Stochastics is as follows:(borrowed from
page 191 in the book "Trading the Ross Hook".

Ralph Dystant owned Investment Educators at one time and was teaching %D.
Mr. Dystant began teaching the slowed version of %D in the early seventies..
%D came to be named 'Stochastics' by Mr. Tim Slater.  However in fairness to
Lane, Mr. Lane calls his version 'Lane's Stochastics' implying that there
was another version that precedes his version.
