as one of your stock fans i wish to say be very careful in shorting
platinum,i started in precious metals even use to run an option book in
platinum , ford anounced abt 8 yrs ago areplacemant for platinum in catyltic
convertors platinum plunged about 150 usds in 4 hours
so when you have good profit on a commodity most traders close out and say
thank you or just start very small in the opposite direction---- remember we
are all falliable and mortal and profits are transitory.
with platinum right now you have the problems vis a vis russian delvary in
palladium, a huge squeeze on physical supplies, the platinum group metals eg
rhodium has starting go up aggresively ....i ask myself this palldium was 85
usd just 3 yrs ago its not at 580 usd because guys are long some big
accounts have got very burnt just be careful a friend to a friend respect

It is apparent there are deviations in trading this that can help or hurt
you.
1.In Jan by purchasing the 3 selected stocks the day before they were to be
purchased,I was down 18% vs, 34% for the system.
2.In Feb,I eliminated SDLI due to the high price meaning so few shares and
being down.Instead I purchased #4 LTXX.The portfolio as of Fri, is up 6%
total from the beginning of Jan to 2/11/00.That of course can change.Once
again this was done the day before the official purchase day.
At the website,the message center on this method talks of numerius other
variations like keeping the ones which were eliminated last month and adding
the new ones.Given deep pockets this seemed to have worked so far with some
of the eliminated ones recovering somewhat.
Any thoughts on shorting Platinum and going long the S&P here?
