Subject: [RT] Lind-Waldock LindConnect - not recommended

Having heard that LW's LindConnect electronic order system had improved
greatly since I ran a trail account last spring, I gave it another try.
The only nice thing I can say is that the LindConnect system features
are the most complete of any electronic system I've used.

System performance is soggy at best when the system is running and there
have at least 3 major system outages since I started using it in late
January. The first of these in early Feb had the entire LW computer
system down including the in-house system used to accept and route
orders - this was blamed on the power company but LeoWeb and the Chicago
exchanges kept right on ticking. The latest outage is this morning -
after logging into LC, I am presented with the following notice:
"Because of network problems LindConnect is not available. Please place
orders through your desk." This must be another major internal computer
systems problem because ping plotter shows all internet nodes into LW
are running just fine. Considering the extent of the system problems,
the slow fill report are not worth mentioning. Bottom line, if you are
looking for an electronic futures order system, ignore Barry's ads on
CNBC and in the WSJ, and look elsewhere.
