It is worth noting that CTA managed funds may be long or short a given
set of commodities, and that some of them exclusively trade currencies,
stock index futures, or have them in their mix. Therefore, their
returns may not necessarily correlate to a rapid rise in basic
commodity prices and may sometimes be closely correlated with stock
indices and/or financial assets. To achieve the goal of being
long basic commodities, you'd have to see if there's a CTA that
has that in its charter for managing the funds.
