All on Omega List and Real Traders (especially those with TS stability or
performance issues)

I've posted a general call for help a few times over the past couple of
weeks as I tried to debug nagging performance and stability issues with
TS2000i. Thanks to all that have replied with your own experiences - the
information was useful indeed.

I've been through a number of different data vendors, even demo'd Dynastore
which many people swear by, but still screen update and performance issues
persisted.

However, things have changed. I have a stable, fast and responsive system -
and pinch me - I don't know if I can contain myself! Thanks to a response
from a list reader the other day, I was encouraged to try PCQuote Hyperfeed
via internet delivery.

	The recommendation paid off.

My colleagues know how stunned I am at the relative performance improvement.
Tick for tick it appears to keep up with Dynastore/Quote.com which I had
regarded as being a very complete and compelling solution. But wait, the
biggest improvement of all is...

TradeStation is fast, responsive and stable.

My environment:

- Clean install of TradeStation 2000i SP3, updated with SP4b
- Pentium III - 350Mhz machine with 128MB of RAM
- Two hard drives, GlobalServer gets one, the operating system and other
stuff sits on the other. No NT swap file on the GlobalServer drive.
- Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6

Since upgrading to TS 2000 SP4b I had noted a marked improvement in
stability at the End Of Day. During market hours I was still having
performance issues.

Over the weekend I switched to PCQuote and the improvement was **stunning**.
A couple dozen charts, numerous workspaces, the ES/SP/ND/NQ up in multiple
time frames, a few high volume high trade rate stocks going in real time for
good measure -- and the thing just powered through it all without a whimper.

Plus Interactive Brokers Traders Workstation on the same machine too, and in
dull moments I was editing EL code too. And still I couldn't break it. I
followed the quotes on IB and compared them to QCharts and PCQuote - they
were all in synch without any visible delay.

Previously my machine would become completely unusable for interactive
work - I would plot my key futures charts and then use QCharts intraday for
trendline drawing and other interactive analysis. Today was probably the
first day in ages where I spend the day using TradeStation as my primary
interface to the market. I'm so pleased that I can once again focus my
attention on the market instead of keeping the tools running.

So, long story short - I'm a real happy camper. My thanks to "Bob" who came
forward with a simple and positive recommendation for PCQuote. Without his
contribution I may not have been inclined to go down yet another path in the
search for Tradestation stability. The internet is a great tool to enable
such sharing.

As for PCQuote, clearly there is something they are doing in their code
interface to GlobalServer that is an improvement over a couple of the other
data vendors that I have used or tested.

My experience is not an isolated event. I am aware of another TS2000i user
who, based on my experience today, switched mid-day to PCQuote. He appears
to be seeing the same near-miraculous transformation as well, perhaps he too
will post to the list the particulars of his experience.

Best regards and good trading,

Michael

PS: THANKS AGAIN BOB!
