I think your comments pretty well summarize the situation with
quote.com. One does have to keep in mind that what is a good data feed
for one trader may not be a good data feed for another. A futures trader
who watches perhaps 30-50 symbols and actively trades a few of those on
any one day is not putting the same load on the system that a trader who
is monitoring and scanning hundreds or thousands of stocks or options
for trading opportunities. Also, there is a huge variation in quality of
Internet connections between users and even at different times of the
day. While QFeed provides the trader with real-time statistics regarding
the quality of the connection, it is up to the trader to perform the
analysis (using a ping plotter) when the connection is sub-standard.
