December 28,1999
Y2K is now upon us.
Thus, it could be the time for
every freak group to establish
their turf and name.No matter
what the authorities in each
of the hot spots do to combat
terrorism and mania there are
definitely black holes that
can't be filled.This is only
due to the fact of the sheer
numbers of people amassed in
concentrated areas.
What are we to do, if
anything?
1) Rational thinking is the
only preventative to panic.
2)I expect glitches if not in
the U.S.A. and England than in
less technologically advanced
economies.
3)I would not accept ANY down-
loads from anyone until we are
at least 72 hours past Y2K.
4)I would change the date on
my computer to 1972 which is
identical to the year 2000.
5)I would get "storm-ready",
just as if there was a severe
hurricane, snowstorm or other
natural occurence.
6)Being storm-ready would
encompass 72 hour supplies;
canned goods, water,sanitary
supplies and at least two
weeks worth of cash on hand.
7)Batteries, candles or other
heating and lighting supplies.
8)Enough fuel to heat your
home and allow you access to
the nearest town and hospital.
This is only a Y2K
preparedness list, it is not
meant to scare you or alter
your present lifestyle. It is
only to be used as an insurance policy.This will
give you peace of mind as does
insurance. You pay the
premiums hoping you never need
to collect.
Keep an open mind with regard
to rumors, media hype and
"well meant advise".
As to the media-hype which
also feeds into a panic,e.g.,
I heard from a "reliable source?" that New York City
purchesed 500,000 body bags.
Now unto itself this is very scary but... Is it true or
hype? Be prepared and don't
allow the media hype to force
you to panic.
