Mark,
You are right this time (I don't always agree with you).
I have made the same statement more than once on this forum to new or novice
futures traders.
Before they spend one dime on software, systems, magic formulas, mirrors and
fufu dust offered by so many of the would be "Masters" of trading, spend the
time and money to visit the Chicago brokerage houses, meet the brokers,
see the CBOT, the MidAm, the CME, Chicago Stock Exchange, CBOE, and get a
feel of what they are getting involved in.
Any and all of the good brokerage houses in Chicago would be more than
willing to spend a day showing you around, letting you sit in their chair and
see and feel what happens on a normal trading day.
Far too many upstart traders in this business read all the bogus adds for
online trading, $7 commissions (without reading the fine print), and all the
other Bull Dung that is found in the magazine adds of TA and Futures and
think they can make a fortune in this business, because the advertisements
tell them they can.
The editors of those magazines have no conscious when it comes to running ads.
All the Best,
Jerry Donato
