Likely or unlikey? This story is absolutely genuine. I can not remember the
name of the guy right now. I met him only once but there has been quiet a lot
of articles about him in the Wall Street Journal (I checked after metting him
and hearing the story) when he left AIG and even before. There has even been
a law suit with his right arm who was claiming that he was entitled to a
share of the settlement (he lost). His trading team went to a Spanish bank (I
think Banco Hispano) but it did not work out... which may confirm your point
that he had not given away the logic of his system.I must ad that he has
never published a "How to trade" book.
