Must have been the Moon or Sunspot activity yesterday.
I was showing my teen-aged son how I trade. Knowing he expected me to put
something on, I jumped too early at a S&P trade and bought two contracts @
1413 using a Leo Account .... on-line trading.
Of course the market moved against me a tad and I covered at
Market....mentioning to my son that I was surprised that I was filled higher
than I expected @ 1412. A few minutes later I did a quick scalp for a few
points and quit for the day.
As I was walking out of the room, I checked my e-mail and the Leo Statement
came in, saying that I had bought 10 and sold 5 during the day. Now I guessed
that the statement had been sent before I sold the last contract out, but the
statement should have said that I Bought 8, Sold 8.
Sure enough.....in my haste to teach my son sound Money Management Techniques
by taking the small Loss @ 1412 I wasn't paying attention and Bought two to
Open instead of Selling two to Close. Instead of teaching him to take small
losses I inadvertently was telling him to average down.
Still unsure I bail out in two Steps, the first two at 1421, then checked
again....yep....still Long two.
The second two at 1422. Total gain, 36 SnP points.
