All of Gann's history is not known, it is possible that he did very well in
his early career and not so well in his later career. When you get too good
I think it's possible that the markets can start to fade your trades. Also
the liquidity
of the markets got very thin in the 1930's, 1940's, and even in the 1950's.
There is an article from Bridge called "Lost Gann: What's Missing?
By Donald Mack" that delves into Gann's story a little. To read it go to
http://www.crbindex.com/ then sellect Bridge Trader, find the list of
Archives and go down the July/August. 1999 line. Select it and you should
see a list of articles in that issue, sellect the one that says The Lost
Gann.

Gann's son, as mentioned within the article, was not happy with his Dad. How
Gann handled his money is not clear, he could have given it away, lost it,
or hidden it. I of course don't know any more than I have heard or read. The
good news is that when applied correctly the methods yield good results!
