Basically here is what I was experiencing on Friday and maybe Thursday.
Previously all at the monies and nearby bid ask changed as you would expect
when the OEX changed and when a trade occurred the Last price changed. Now
on Friday and Thursday the bid/ask did not change and the last changed
sometimes throughout the day. They were correct after the close. Only when
I querried Preferred Trade for a quote and compared did I realize BMI oex
option B/A was "frozen". I know BMI does some volume filtering and I would
like to know exactly what filtering they are doing in order to decide
whether or not to continue with BMI satellite. Cable is not an option where
I live and I have heard negative things about e-signal. I am running TS4
and Prosuite on separate machines along with some other BMI compatible
software. For years the opra quotes were satisfactory and compared exactly
with Preferred Trade until this week. I sent a few emails to BMI and got
rather quick responce. Then made a few phone calls and only found DBC
people and no real BMI people at the other end. By real I mean those
familiar with BMI. I did get ahold of one tech who is going to work with me
next week on pinning the problem down. Specifically the November 715 put
should have been very active, and it was on Preferred Trade but not BMI.
And that was true for TS4 and PS2ki. The indexes and breadth stats appeared
correct.
