Just look at the charts, and you will see that the
correlations are not as amazing as those numbers suggest. I am not sure how they
got these numbers. As long as the general trend is the same, you get huge
autocorrelations from your data if the computation is done on actual levels.
Also, I ran the numbers and they are very different. I get a correlation
coefficient, using levels, at 0.33 and using changes at 0.19 with r-squared at
0.11 and 0.04. Maybe they are doing some other calculation or transformation of
the data (i.e., up weeks versus down weeks, etc.).

Dear RTs'

I have a question on whether a broker firm acted appropriately.

A broker friend joined an IB broker firm (Regal Capital Investments, which
clears with RB&H Financial Services LP, I was told) so I opened a futures
trading account with him. I sent in all the papers and opening capital, and
was given an account number to trade. The broker took the orders for the
first trades and I went out of town (emergency).

While I was away, the broker called and said one of my orders was filled, but
since their office notified him there was a signature missing on one of the
pages of my account application form, the firm exited my trade at MOC on that
day, and put the profit (several hundred dollars) in an "error account"
pending receiving a faxed signature on that page from me. However, I did not
get the phone message until several days later.

I later found out that since they did not received my faxed signature "within
24 hours they kept my profit in the "error account" as theirs and refused to
credit it to my account.

Did the broker firm act correctly or were they fooling me?

Your comments and help are appreciated.

Sincerely,
Bill
