I received a number of private responses to my experience with Omega.
Some agreed Omega needs to get real charging over $1000 for the special
upgrade price from 4.x, others said they were told the upgrade price was
$495 + shipping if upgrading from Ver 4.x, the same as I inquired about.
Soooo ... I decided to call again today, and spoke with a different
sales rep. This one stated the price was $500 for all users of TS 4.0
and the other guy is wrong. So in fairness to Omega's pricing things
are better. But to Omega's failure, they still don't have their act
together when dealing with customers.
Another example of the mixed communications coming out of Omega.
Back in Sept. 98 I started the process of becoming a solution provider.
I finally got the paperwork in Oct. and submitted it. I was told by
three different people I was accepted and the 'package of SP
information' was in the mail or to be shipped by the end of the week.
Finally in Feb. after a number of calls, I spoke with Darla Tuttle, the
new head of solution provider relations dept.. She stated I was denied
acceptance to the SP program. I inquired, what the reason ws, so I
could try to correct it. Did I not provide sufficiently sophisticated
examples or what? After many calls, she told me they were conferring
with their legal staff to see if they had to tell me why I was not
accepted. To this date, I have not received a response. I can
understand if they had a legitimate reason for not letting me join, but
at least tell me. If you believe in coincidences, the time I was told I
could not join was close to them releasing TS2000i. Maybe they were
looking to get as many sales as possible.
