Here is the quote and chart of Norman's explanation from TASC Aug 1, 1991:
"On the Trader's Challenge for May 1991, based on my cycles research, I have
forecasted the probable relative strength of Black and Decker share price
vs. the stock market trend in general. I have utilized this approach in
recognition that at least 50% of all individual stock price behavior is
attributable to the trend of the overall market. Please also note that on
the graph, I have included probable buy and sell signals on a calendar
basis. I would buy or sell on these dates, counter to the prevailing
three-day trend, in anticipation of a change in trend, and using a close
initial ($0.50) stop and reverse based on the principle that the key times
will yield the key prices.
In any case, no trade using this system should be allowed to go against
one by more than $1 without a stop and reverse. Should the same signal
generate three stop-and-reverse trades, one should go flat on the fourth
stop and await the next key time signal.
Please keep in mind that the enclosed forecast does not take into
account the general trend of hte stock market."
