I've been to Ira's class and I trade Ira's methods. Are
his claims accurate for me? Actually no....they've been too
conservative. If at the end of a month I'm shooting ONLY
an 80% success rate at a 1:1 risk:reward ratio I'm not
doing as well as I have in previous months. The comment
being that if we'd just reinvest our profits, in a year we
could be billionaires is silly. Sure...you could probably
be rich too if you'd only taken a dollar each day
you were alive, doubled it and just put it in the bank and
let it sit. But we don't do that do we? Try and do the
same, those of you not fulltime traders... take your day job
and your net earnings and
reinvest them, all of them ....not just what's left after
paying
bills etc. and keep compounding them...you'll be rich too,
no doubt about it.
We don't do that though do we? We have to eat ...we
have
to live the way we are comfortable...we don't save what we
should....and there are a lot more important things in life
than always trying to make money!!!, at least to me. Would
I feel comfortable trading 100 lots of SP, no....a single
lot of SP is plenty for me. I trade on the average 4 days
a week, 16 days a month with an average daily trading
requisite of $500 . I keep only a $25k account and I trade
consistantly except during summer months when there are more
distractions around the house reducing the number of trades
I usually execute. My earnings above my account balance of
$25k come home. I don't reinvest them back into trading. I
live off of them and pay taxes with them. Therefore,
billionaireship will also elude me at least this year. This
is my job. I usually trade single lots in the SP, Bp, Sf,
Jy, Dj, and US. When my daily financial goal is met I
usually quit trading for the day and do something else more
interesting. Do others have the same success with Ira's
methods? Are his methods foreverybody? I don't know.
What I'm doing trading-wise is really no big deal. Some
seem to think so. It isn't.
What you think about...comes about. If one starts
realizing these kinds of results are attainable and quits
being a continual 'doubting Thomas' maybe more success will
come their way. There is no doubt that many other avenues
exist that other traders have taken to become far more
successful than I have been. Ira's methods are just one
way....at least they've been a large part of the way for
me. As I posted to another forum earlier this week (yes,
this
thread has traveled...and how!!), Ira in his class gives you
the
ammunition, it's up to each individual trader to pull the
trigger and make it work for them.
I'm not going to get in a _issing match with
anyone. I've just about had it with this thread thankyou
very much. One trader from another forum( yes, the thread
has traveled...and how) said that I'd be considered a
buffone by writing such an 'unbelievable post'...and that
other 'more sophisiticated traders' would take down and
remember my email address. I laughed. Why would I care
what other email traders think of me? How are they going to
affect my life? I can certainly survive without trader
email if it ever came to that and I might be far better
off! I neither gain nor lose anything by writing this
post. I felt, however, the record should be set straight
based on other previous posts on RealTraders.
Since I'm going on vacation in a couple of days if anyone
cares to comment, please post me privately as well, since I
only get
RT in digest form....ie 24 hours late.
