Gary, it sounds as if you need to begin with a good book on the basics
of futures options. I have read a few such books and the one I most
highly recommend is Agricultural Options - Trading Puts and Calls in the
New Grain and Livestock Futures Markets by George Angell. As the
subtitle implies, it has been in print for a long time: since 1981. But
I guarantee that when you finish it, you will understand the basics and
be ready to advance to Sheldon Natenburg and David Caplan's fine books.
It is sold by Windsor Books and Traders Press ($29.95 P.O. Box 6206
Greenville, SC 29606.) You should not expect to get the kind of
information you seek and need in a few random e-mail messages. Options
are a complex subject. Angell does a wonderful job of simplifying the
complex and presenting it in an easily readable manner.
