The E-Mini Nasdaq 100 contract at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange
begins trading next Monday, June 21, at 8:30 am. (All times listed
here are for local Chicago time.) This is a close cousin to the
E-Mini S&P 500 contract and will trade in a similar manner. Our policy
for this contract at the beginning of trading will be as follows:
* The E-Mini Nasdaq 100 contract will be traded with Limit orders,
Market orders, Stops, and Stop Limits only. All orders will be day
orders and will expire at 3:15 p.m. with the close of the day's
business.
* The E-Mini Nasdaq 100 trading day runs from 3:30 pm straight through
to 3:15 p.m. the following day. As with other Globex trades, those
trades which occur after 3:30 p.m. but before midnight will have the
next day's trade date.
* Until the Globex Network eliminates its evening reset , LFG will not
take any new orders between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
* All E-Mini Nasdaq 100 orders will be placed electronically. If you
or your customer have LeoWeb, you may place orders around the clock
except during the Globex reset from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m..
Otherwise, you can place orders through the same facility that
currently takes your good-til-canceled orders in other markets. For
example, the hours at the Main Order Desk are 7:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
The Global Services Desk will NOT take any E-Mini Nasdaq 100 orders.
* LeoWeb users can call the LEO support desk at 312-993-2283 if they
experience any problems during a transmission. This desk will be
manned throughout the evening.
* Any order of 31 or more contracts MUST be placed in the All or None
Market during Regular Trading Hours. During Electronic Trading Hours,
the largest order you may place on one ticket is 30 contracts. For
information on the All or None feature, contact the Main Order Desk.
NOTE: With the introduction of the E-Mini Nasdaq 100, it is now
imperative that we specify clearly which E-Mini contract is being
traded. We recommend that all references to either the E-Mini Nasdaq
100 or the E-Mini S&P 500 include both "mini" and either "Nasdaq" or
"S&P".
LeoWeb is recommended for trading during the evening sessions. It
requires an Internet connection and a PC running Windows.
