Re: Trading & Commissions

In my almost one year of daytrading, I have come to the conclusion that
there is a serious lack of quality customer support when it comes to
brokerage firms, data providers, software vendors, etc. Certainly there are
exceptions, but the general lack of appreciation for the customer is absurb.
I have been through at least 6 brokers (and no, I wasn't looking for the
lowest commissions possible!) and you wouldnt believe the number and types
of problems I have had: lying about commissions and fees, lying about
quality of service, not sending out a disbursement when requested, not
signing a disbursement check and then not helping me out when check bounces!
(this was a doozy!), not notifiying me when online system is out or denying
that other people are having problems, not returning phone calls, not
answering phones until late morning, etc, etc, etc!!!

I could go on and on, but you get the picture. Its too easy in this
business to move an account from one firm to another and I have gladly taken
advantage of that. I have attempted to find reasonable commissions, online
trading with quality backup by phone, and quality customer service. I am in
the process of opening another account elsewhere to find the above.

I know there are quality brokers out there who are anxious to offer their
services, but I enjoy the ability to place and cancel orders on the fly. If
only there were some quality firms which employed quality people and
provided such an online service, I am sure there would be many fellow
traders anxious to give it a try.
