Here's a link to an article written by Gibbons Burke for Future's Mag.
on adjusting price data for inflation. There's a link in the article
to the Fed. site Earl mentioned with monthly CPI data. I've never seen
daily inflation data.

It looks like there's a CPI calculation spreadsheet program
(CPICALC.XLS) at the following FTP site; I haven't used it and I'm not
sure what it does:
