One Fed statistic I monitor weekly is the foreign central bank treasury
holdings on deposit with the Fed. They had reached a peak about 12-18 months
ago from which they declined by about 10% over a 6 month period. Since then,
they have remained relatively stable and I've seen no evidence of
liquidation of treasuries by foreign central banks.
