Reading some of the arguments, about using options instead of stops, on the
forum recently has sparked some interest with me. I think I have a grip on
intrinsic and time value, puts and calls, strike price etc. My question is how
does one calculate the price from the quote.

heres my 2 cents worth, and is the
simplest form of trading I have come across yet

its where the market OPENS, price trades UP or
DOWN , then comes back to the OPEN

and in most cases carries on in that
direction,

like anything its not 100%, but it happens with high
consistency, to be tradable,

the trade gets evev better when the TOP or BOTTOM price
range is not to far from the open,

one can place ones STOP LOSS just ABOVE or BELOW the high or
low for a LOW RISK trade, and also one is usually able to get out at your price
should the market turn, so depending on the market, one place an order AT
or X ticks above or below the open, as soon as the trade goes your way, u can
than move your stop to your entry and so on, depending on your
style

of course this is for daytrading, and like anything else, NOT
APPLICABLE during FOMC meetings and the like ,

I know u experienced traders are
shaking your heads, nothing knew here, granted, but it is simple (no)?, it does
work, and maybe someone starting off will have 1 more thing to look for
THETAS and all I have say on the topic, I did say it was simple, look at your
inta- charts
