Your friend could read the book "How to make the stock market make
money for you" by Ted Warren published by Sherbourne Press, Inc., Los
Angeles, California in 1966.
As much as I recall from reading the book Mr. Warren to not have "a
method". He advocates to look for the stock with long flat base (several
years long) and buy them on the break out of the base. Then "ride" those
stocks up.
Mr. Warren was writing a news letter until his death. In news letters
he recommended stocks that in his opinion formed the "base" and was
ready for the "break out".
