Metastock is a charting tool box. Not a system. It doesn't give buy or sell
signals per say. You must learn to understand chart patterns and indicators and
reach a subjective conclusion as to what is a buy signal and what is a sell
signal.

The software is excellent. It, or something like it, is a must for any
trader. But to learn some technical analysis concepts, you must also read a
few books. Or else, learning to activate the software will be meaningless.
I'd start with an early edition of the classic by Edwards & McGee. You can
find it in the library, or go to Amazon.com. Learning to read basic chart
pattern formations is the basis to everything. Then I'd go to William
O'Neil. He's the publisher of Investors's Business Daily. The IBD has a
website which surely sells his training books. Their website will most likely
also have the complete series of editorials he has written over the last year or
so which serve as an excellent primer for learning to trade stocks. Get through
all this, and you have a good beginning.
