Just a quick note of thanks to all for their helpful replies. I have tried
to reply to each person individually to say thank you (hope I haven't missed
anyone). The response was enormous and certainly restored my faith in the
human race. My friends are using many of the suggestions we received and are
about to decide between two surgeons. I'll post one more message after the
ultimate outcome is known. I apologize again for the off topic subject but
we needed as many suggestions as possible and this was the only way I could
think of to reach a great number of people.
