John - I have had that problem too and I do not know why that happens.
One time I was resending a post from somebody else and did not want to
send all sorts of other junk with it and did a cut and paste job in a
new message box, and lo and behold, the message was suddenly properly
formatted. Don't know why, but it is worth a try.
