This is a PS to my comments below.  I started trading stock index
futures  in 1982 and made back my 30K and a lot more.  I do NOT
recommend you try futures. If I was your father and know what I know, I
would lock you in your room until you were 30 years old and then allow
you to loose a little bit of money on futures. 

I would be willing to bet you will trade options because you have the
bug,  You think you can make money without much work.  If you make it,
you will work for it believe me.  I look forward to comments from other
members who have been around, so to speak.  You will not listen to the
words of wisdom, you will have to learn it the hard way, unfortunately.
