Re: Silver and Nasdaq

The real comparison might be between internet stocks and the silver market.
Think about it this way, the Hunt brothers bought up as much silver as they
could in an effort to corner the market.. As prices went higher, fewer and
fewer people were willing to sell and the ones that had sold were forced to
cover and or liquidate all the while the market was moving limit up. The
internet stocks (for the most part) also have their own "Hunt brothers" in
players like Jeffrey Vinik and other hedge fund/mutual fund managers who
seize the opportunity to control small float companies and drive prices
higher and higher, they also understand that any short interest will be
forced to cover if they can swing the lines hard enough and long
enough...everyone has seen the tech stocks over the past 3-4 years which
have shot up better than 1000% and everyone who knows anything about the
markets knows that the manipulation is similar to what we saw with the
silver market(note: I am not totally familiar with this, but I have read
about it)...the internet stocks have been such a sore point for market
makers(both option and equity), retail brokerage firms(which have 2:1
margin), soes firms(which have something like 10:1 margin)...the problem is
that many traders go where the action is and from what I can tell many
brokerage firms are stuck holding the bag when a move akin to a limit move
occurs...the guys who were buying on margin (many of them) do not even
understand that they will owe if the stock tanks...I now read about lawsuit
after lawsuit claiming "suitability of investor"...this is going to continue
I am afraid because of the propaganda churned out in the advertising
industry and on bulletin boards...if you don't believe go to one of those
chat boards and see how many people are going for the kill and how many are
probably going bankrupt every day...

Remember, volatility is your best friend only if you know how to use it...I
don't suspect the guy who just openened his e-trade account to trade yhoo
and amzn fully comprehends this statement...
