Hi all,
I experienced atypical datafeed problems this morning - my L2, Time and
Sales, and price chart had 3 different figures showing, basically from the
open until about an hour later. Because I could not tell which figure (if
any) was correct and which were lagging, I could not rationally enter an
order. Several stocks on my watch list made 2+ point moves, so my lost
income potential was in the thousands of dollars.
During that hour of problematic datafeed, I called the brokerage firm,
software provider, and data provider several times. As could be predicted,
everyone pointed the finger at someone else. Not once did I hear the term
"I'm sorry". Does anyone happen to know - is there a law on the books
somewhere which says that stating "I'm sorry" is an a priori admission of
guilt, with financial repercussions? It just so happens that I have NEVER
heard the expression from any of the 3 brokerage firms I have used. Not
that I'm an overly sensitive person, but when I don't hear this most basic
of conciliatory expressions, I feel all the more tempted to make their lives
miserable - a natural human reaction as far as I can tell.
More importantly, is any recourse available to me?
Thanks in advance,
Paul Szilassy
