In response to your query regarding AIQ;

I accepted their advertised three month free trial offer back in
December for which I was immediatedly billed - nothing is for
free with this company I have found. If you are familiar with
Dial Data then you know the arrogance and rudeness of many of
the people that you are going to be dealing with which is
apparently supported and encouraged by senior management.
The HISTORICAL DATA is generally quite acceptable and provides the
opportunity for you to design studies using a myriad of indicators
provided by AIQ and also allows you to design your own indicators and
studies using them. Even I, as an illiterate computer person and
technically deficient trader have been able to follow the provided
videos to write a study. The written manual is about average
in that it is written by someone who knows the subject matter but
written for someone who knows the subject matter. Historical data
takes about 2 hours to download 5000 stocks. I am
running a PII 333 128Ram to win98 off a Road Runner cable feed. Am
told by the people at AIQ/myTrack that they do it in ten minutes.
This a frequent response from myTrack support when you encounter a
problem "mine works fine". It has taken as long as six hours to
download historical data but the average is just under two hours.
REAL TIME DATA: If you have ADSL, IDSN or Cable you should be able
to use the ALERTS with a dozen or so symbols. When I tried it with
a phone connect ISP it died with more than two symbols, consistently.
Real time data is produced in a chart format and allows you to view
the data in a 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minute format with the click of
the mouse. All indicators are available and it allows you to pre-set
as many as you want. Screen will adapt to multiple charts and I
generally find three can be followed comfortably.
Presently there is a problem with closing a chart and opening a new
chart in that it frequently will cause your computer to freeze and
require a hard shut down. This occurred in the most recent service
pack upgrade about a month ago. I was told that this only affected
systems which had a cable feed but I continued to have the problem
when I switched to a standard ISP.
Fees - It is hard to get an answer on exactly what it is going to cost
at the outset. I have the minimum myTrack real time feed with NY, Nasd,
AM
and AIQ and it costs $114 and change.
There are two entities involved here - AIQ and myTrack and they
frequently and constantly refer you to the other when you are
having a problem.
They spend a lot of time promoting a game of guessing the dow on their
chat rooms each day and giving away a couple of shares of TRAC stock.
To be fair I have had contact with one of their programmers who is
conscientiously making an effort to resolve the computer freezing
chart problem and he is and has been the only consumer oriented
employee I have encountered at either myTrack or AIQ.
This may be a lot more than you were interested in knowing but once
I started had a tendency to ramble. It also gave me an opportunity to
take some shots at these guys but rest assured they are not "cheap
shots"
they are well earned and deserved by myTrack/AIQ/Dial Data.
To summarize this service relationship with AIQ I view it as
more of a beta thing that I get to pay for.
