based on my fairly exhaustive research I meet the criteria for filing as a 
trader.&nbsp; As many of you know, this can have enormous benefits (in a 
nutshell - exemption from wash sale rule, personal and business deductions, yet 
no estimated income tax or social security requirement).</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>I have experienced an unbelievable amount of 
frustration trying to find a tax specialist / CPA locally (Seattle, WA area) who 
is knowledgeable about AND HAS DEALT WITH trader-related tax issues - someone 
who has heard of Section 475 of the tax code and has filed returns (including 
Schedule C) on behalf of daytraders/position traders.&nbsp; I have been in 
contact with the venerable Ted Tesser of Boca Raton, FL, but he appears to have 
his plate full.&nbsp; At this stage I am seeking anyone (local or not) who can 
provide me with the benefit of pre-existing expertise in this specific area of 
tax.... what I will not do is consent to having a CPA get an education at my 
expense.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Are any of you filing as a trader for 1998 (or did you do so 
in years prior) any have you found a tax professional who genuinely helped 
you?&nbsp; If not, do you know someone who MAY meet the above description?&nbsp; 
Have you filed as a trader on your own in years past, and if so, what problem 
areas should I be aware of?&nbsp; Again, I have accumulated a good amount of 
knowledge about what I need to file, what I can legitimately deduct, etc. but I 
do not have the time or patience to fish through all appropriate areas of the 
tax code to make sure all is hunky-dory.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>I want to get my 1998 taxes out of the way as soon as

It Appears that paper trading futures is FREE, even if you do not have an

I am trying to determine the correct up-down volume tick ratio and  up tick
 down tick volume  for T
on 3-22-99.

I would appreciate e-mail with this information and the data source(s).
