I know how to plot a displaced moving average on a chart. What I'm trying to do is write it as an indicator formula to add to an expert commentary. Metastock calls the displacement action a "horizontal shift", but those words are nowhere else to be found in their help.

Let's say I wanted a 10 period moving average displaced 3 periods. Anybody know how I would write it?

Thanks! Linda

Hi Linda,
Here it is: Ref(Mov(C,10,S),-3)
Sheesh Linda, you should be on the DiNapoli client forums, you'd already know this! ;-)
I've recently written a DiNapoli "Expert Advisor" for MetaStock, it will be available on the forums after it's been tested (includes daily week monthly templates, Detrend Osc, MACD (DiNapoli settings) Preferred Stochastic, DiNapoli trend advisor etc)..
Take care, -Neal.
