Before you get all fired up and worried, I suggest that you read the book:
Hormesis with Ionizing Radiation by Dr. T. D. Luckey and published by CRC Press.
He shows that a moderate amount of such radiation is good for you!  And 100 years'
of research bears him out.  Dan C.
