Keith,

Enjoyed your comments on farming. The consumer has no idea what risk a farmer
takes. Risk of give away prices, weather destroying
crop, insects, weeds, govenment action, ect. Most farmers I know are happy if
they have one good crop with good prices every 4 years.

In 1968 you could buy a 4020 John Deer for around $10,000. and wheat was
around $3.00/bu. Now a new tractor is approaching $100,000, or more and the
price of cash wheat is under $2.50/bu. Yes in good years we produce more
bushels /ac, but in not so good of years we produce the same or fewer than in
1968.

      Thanks,
       Dennis
