Re: straying

Straying is most commonly associated with young traders, they trade one
method or indicator today and when tomorrow comes it may be another. Sitting
on one's hands is the one of the most difficult parts of the "system" that you
design.
One method that can overcome straying is keeping a two trading journals, one
journal for real system trades and the other journal for the "what if" trades.
The real time journal you go ahead and trade your system and most importantly
record all aspects of the trade, how much did the trade go against you, what
was you risk, how soon did you go to breakeven etc. The second journal is your
"what if" trades, record the same information, but don't take the trade. For
those who really have the bug about taking non-system trades, give Auditrack a
call, they are a simulated broker and one can then do all the "what if" they
like without subjecting their accounts to "what's this."
